Nistar is Pursuing a 600-Acre Site for Central Mississippi Data Center Campus
Nistar is pursuing a 600-acre site in Central Mississippi for a planned 3 GW Grid + BTM natural gas data center campus, with 15MW of initial grid capacity, major interstate pipelines on site, and turbines identified for accelerated deployment.
Nistar announced today the advancement of its 600-acre development site in Central Mississippi, progressing plans for a hyperscale data center campus with Grid + BTM natural gas generation. The project targets 3 GW total capacity with 2.4 GW IT load, starting with 15MW of initial grid capacity with modular AI HPC data centers deployable within 9–12 months. The site benefits from major interstate pipelines on site, providing exceptional fuel security with 160,000 Dth/d delivery capacity via dual 20-inch taps and dual laterals, expandable to 450,000 Dth/d to support full buildout. Turbines have been identified that can be refurbished in approximately 9 months and installed within 24 months, providing an accelerated pathway to large-scale BTM capacity. The project enjoys strong community support with letters from the local building & planning board, state senator, town mayor, and chamber of commerce. Existing industrial zoning is in place for all parcels, and the site offers grid interconnection options including 138kV and 230kV tie-ins to MISO. Carbon capture and sequestration capability optionality is being evaluated as part of the development plan.
