About Nistar
Nistar is a Chicago-based development platform built to power the next generation of hyperscale and AI-driven data center infrastructure. We bridge energy, digital infrastructure, and real-asset finance by structuring and advancing large, power-anchored campuses.
We convert early-stage land and power positions into institutional-grade investments through SPV assembly, utility/interconnection pathway negotiation, long-lead equipment procurement via deep OEM/supplier networks, credible capex phasing, and investor-ready de-risking.
Our development experience spans thermal generation (natural-gas CCGT and reciprocating engines), hydropower, wind, solar, BESS, nuclear SMRs, and other firmed-power solutions designed to meet "five-nines" uptime requirements for mission-critical compute.
On the energy side, we maintain active relationships with major independent power producers, integrated oil and gas majors, regulated and unregulated utilities, and specialized clean energy developers across gas, hydro, solar, wind, and storage.
In digital infrastructure, our counterparty network spans hyperscale cloud and AI compute operators, sovereign and institutional data center platforms, publicly traded and private colocation providers, and next-generation compute operators across crypto mining and AI inference.
Leadership
Experienced operators across energy infrastructure, digital real assets, and institutional finance.
Jay leads Nistar's strategic direction and client engagement. With over a decade of experience across digital infrastructure and energy markets, he has structured and executed transactions involving hyperscale data center campuses, cryptocurrency mining facilities, thermal generation assets, and renewable power projects. Jay maintains trusted relationships across hyperscalers, next generation cloud providers, miners, infrastructure investors, and private equity sponsors, and is recognized for assembling investment-grade opportunities through disciplined structuring and execution.
Jake oversees Nistar's project execution and development operations. He brings extensive experience in utility interconnection negotiations, long-lead equipment procurement, and construction management for large-scale power and data center projects. His operational expertise spans natural gas CCGT plants, renewable installations, and hyperscale campus developments. Jake's systematic approach to de-risking projects has been instrumental in advancing Nistar's multi-gigawatt pipeline from early-stage land positions to shovel-ready assets.
Sean drives Nistar's strategic initiatives and market positioning. He specializes in identifying emerging opportunities at the intersection of energy markets, compute demand, and infrastructure finance. With a background spanning commodity trading, power markets analysis, and technology investment, Sean has developed Nistar's differentiated approach to behind-the-meter power solutions. He leads the firm's relationships with hyperscalers and AI compute operators seeking dedicated power infrastructure.
Alexander leads Nistar's commodities and power origination activities. He brings deep expertise in natural gas supply agreements, power purchase structures, and energy hedging strategies. His career includes senior roles at major commodity trading houses and energy companies, where he originated and executed complex fuel supply and offtake arrangements. Alexander's relationships with midstream operators and utilities are critical to securing the gas supply pathways and interconnection agreements that underpin Nistar's BTM power strategy.
Robert leads Nistar's capital markets and transaction activities. He has extensive experience in infrastructure finance, having structured and closed financings for power generation, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure assets. Prior to joining Nistar, Robert held senior finance roles at infrastructure-focused private equity firms and investment banks, where he led debt and equity raises totaling over $5 billion. He oversees Nistar's SPV structuring, investor relations, and transaction execution.
